Meet up an ex-colleague in the Tanjung Bungah area for dinner, and decided to go back to this one, one of our favourite restaurant. It had been almost a year since our last visit, but we can still remember how good is their nyonya style curry fish, cengcaluk sotong, prawns stuffed in a fresh coconut and the stir fried lotus root. Yummy....................................
Found ourselves ( 3 adults & a 6 years old ) a medium size table just beside the entrance. Getting ready to order those favourite dishes of ours, out of the 4 we managed to get 3. "Prawns are far too expensive nowadays" this was the excuse by the manager/owner "it's RM100/kg today". Wow! it is really really expensive but never mind, we can live without the prawns. So we ordered another dish which we missed very much too, which is the deep fried chicken with almond slices. After about 25 minutes, here comes the makan time..................
OOppps........BTW if you don't like the smell of mosquitoes repellent pls bring along your own.

1.Nyonya style sour curry fish ( Tau Tneh )
This is the one that brought us here mmm 3 years ago, and this time it is totally different with the one we have for the first time. Curry taste a bit "burnt"(chow hoay tah). Not sour enough and too many lady's fingers. One small size fish, 3 person portion and we were charged RM60.00. Rating 3/5
2. Cengcaluk Sotong
Totally different style and taste with the previous one. We still prefer the previous one than this which don't have the cengcaluk taste at all, it taste like sotong fried in sambal sauce. Small size @ RM12. Rating 3/5
3. Deep Fried Almond Chicken
This one looked the funniest! Exactly the different one we have last time. Small size @ RM10
Rating 3/5
4. Stir Fried Lotus Root w/mix vege
The lotus root is very crunchy and this is the only one that did not dissappoint us. Still about the same with the one we have last time. Small size @ RM10
Rating 4.5/5
Total bill for 3 adults & 1 small kid
Overall rating : 3/5 |
